Kambosos: "the hunger is still there"

Former lightweight world champion George Kambosos Jr. is at a point where he is thinking about his next career step carefully and has the same ambition as always, to become a champion again. The Australian of Greek descent is coming off two straight losses to Devin Haney, the most difficult time of his career but at the same time the most challenging time to learn, as he commented this week. “The hunger is still there to be the best. I had a lot of options to have easy fights, but like a true warrior, I took the tough fight against Devin Haney,” Kambosos said of his rematch against the undisputed 135-pound champion. “I feel like I learned more from those two fights than any victory I’ve had in my career. I’m very excited for 2023 because I went 24 rounds with Haney and now I’m a better fighter and a true warrior. Losing is not the worst thing in the world,” he continued.
