According to TMZ Sports, former world heavyweight champion Leon Spinks is hospitalized in very serious condition. Spinks is 66 years old. There were no details of his ailment but Spinks' daughter in law Christy Spinks acknolwdged the situation on social media."We appreciate the prayers for our dad Leon Spinks, We hope he recovers from this." Christy is married to Leon's son Cory Spinks, himself a former world champion. Spinks is a United States military veteran who won Olympic gold in 1976 along with his brother Michael. Despite the gold medal, it was considered a shocking upset in 1978 when Leon Spinks defeated the great Muhammad Ali to become world heavyweight champion.
