Argentina's Clara Lescurat (9-0) will defend her WBA super flyweight  championship against Mexican teenager Regina Chavez next Saturday, February 24th. Lescurat will make the third defense of her crown against the Mexican in a venue she knows very well, the Casino de Buenos Aires. The 35 year-old champion won the title against Maribel Ramirez in June 2022 with a unanimous decision victory in Buenos Aires. Her first defense was against Mexico's Nayeli Gil last October 28, 2022, while in May she trav eled to France to defend against Brazil's Daniela De Jesus Aguiar.  Chavez is only 19 years old and turned pro in 2018! At just 7-3-3, she has little to lose but much to gain if she manages to win. Chavez is on a three-fight winning streak but her last fight was three weight classes lower in the minimumweight division.
