Arslanbek Makhmudov  W12 Dave Allen... Popular British heavyweight Dave Allen looked to take another significant step in his remarkable comeback, but lost to the menacing Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday in front of a raucous crowd in Sheffield, England, live on DAZN. Allen was rumored to be in line for former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder if he won. But the best laid plans don't always come to fruition as Makhmudov dominated from start to finish, winning by unanimous decision by scores of 117-109, 116-110 and 111-105. Allen stalked Makhmudov for the bulk of the contest and landed some good overhand shots. However, Allen rarely seized the opportunity and allowed Makhmudov to pepper jabs and stay relentless with left and right hands. Makhmudov had one point taken away in the ninth and twelfth rounds for excessive holding , but it proved to be for naught.  Makhmudov made it clear who he wants next, and that's former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. "Anthony Joshua, let me know when brother", the Canadian-based Russian told Jamie Ward in his post-fight interview.
