Dixon prevailed by scores of 98-91, 97-92 and 96-93. The belt became vacant when former world champion Katie Taylor decided to remain at junior welterweight. Dixon (10-0) is trained by Anthony Crolla, who joins an impressive club, having trained a boxer to a world title and having won the WBA lightweight title as a boxer himself.
