At Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan's Ryosuke Nishida won a world title in just his ninth pro fight. Nishida became the IBF bantamweight champion Saturday, defeating Puerto Rico's Emmanuel Rodriguez via unanimous decision. Nishida's effort was aided by a fourth-round knockdown of Rodriguez with a hard shot to the body. Now 9-0 with just 1 KO, Nishida is 27 years old. Rodriguez's career record drops to 22-3.
