Turki Alalshikh announced yesterday that Abraham Nova will step in as a replacement on August 16th in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia. Nova will face ex-featherweight champ Ray Ford. The original opponent for Ford, WBO junior lightweight champion Anthony Cacace, has apparently withdrawn from the fight. The Puerto Rican-born Nova is 24-3-1 on his career, including a world title loss to O'Shaquie Foster in 2024. Since then, Nova has gone 1-1-1. Ford, from New Jersey, is 17-1-1 and has looked great since moving up to junior lightweight. In April, he won a dominant unanimous decision over Thomas Mattice, with all three judges scoring it 100-90.
