Prime Video results: wins for Jesus Ramos and Vito Mielnicki

Jesus Ramos Jr.TKO9 Johan Gonzalez... Junior middleweight contender Jesus “El Mono” Ramos Jr., 154.6 lbs., of Casa Grande, Arizona, earned a technical knockout victory against Venezuela's Johan “The Chelo Manotas” Gonzalez, 153.6 lbs., inside nine rounds on the Canelo-Munguia undercard. Returning to Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena seven months following a dubious defeat to Erickson Lubin, the southpaw Ramos traded hooks with Gonzalez for much of this contest, but was by far the more effective puncher. Ramos Jr. seemed to hurt his adversary several times throughout the bout, particularly in the fifth and sixth rounds, but Gonzalez weathered the storm each time. For eight rounds, the durable Gonzalez took everything Ramos could dish out and never faltered.

Finally, in the ninth, Ramos Jr. landed a crushing left hook to Gonzalez’s chin, sending him crashing to the canvas. Once back on his feet, Gonzalez was met with an onslaught of hooks to floor him again, prompting referee Harvey Dock to end the contest at the 2:56 mark of the frame.

Ramos is now 21-1 with 17 KOs and became the first to stop Gonzalez (34-3 with 33 KOs).

Vito Mielnicki Jr. W10 Ronald Cruz... To open up the PBC on Prime Video free preview ahead of the Canelo-Munguia pay-per-view, popular 21 year-old Vito “White Magic” Mielnicki Jr., 153.6 lbs., of Roseland, New Jersey, outboxed Ronald “Diablo” Cruz, 152.2 lbs., of Los Angeles over ten heats en route to a unanimous decision win. Early on, Mielnicki kept Cruz at bay with a stiff jab. By round two, Mielnicki was throwing punches in bunches. In the third and fourth stanzas, Mielnicki floored Cruz with a left hook to the head each time. Mielnicki suffered a cut over his left eye in round six. Cruz was more active over the second half, but never landed anything clean. The judges tallied 99-89, 98-90, and 96-92, all for Mielnicki, who upped his record to 18-1 with 12 KOs. Cruz is now 19-4-1 with 12 KOs. Before his 2019 pro debut, Mielnicki was a touted amateur, having compiled a 147-22 record. He was a four-time Junior National Golden Gloves champion, a two-time Silver Gloves National champion, a two-time Ringside World champion, and a two-time US Junior National Champion.
