Report: Spence out until at least April

The WBC posted an update stating that the recovery of three-belt weterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. from injuries sustained in a recent car accident will delay his return to the ring longer than expected. On December 10, Spence was involved in a traffic accident, albeit not as serious as the high speed incident that threw him from his car in 2019. Spence stated that the injuries will delay his return to the ring, with the WBC attributing the following quote to Spence: “I was going to announce my next fight three or four days after my accident. But my body started to ache, and I had to postpone everything... I’ll probably come back in April, May or June. I just have to talk to my team and be 100% physically. I’ve had worse accidents. We are going to make it happen.” Spence posted a video on social media shortly after he was involved in a car crash. "He ran the light, the motherf*cker hit me" said Spence, filming the outside of his car showing serious damage. The champion did not appear to be seriously injured but he did say with an ironic smile, "it f*cked my leg up."
