Santiago vs. Nakatani update

Mexico's Alexandro ‘Peque’ Santiago will defend his WBC bantamweight title against two-division champion Junto Nakatani of Japan on February 24th in Tokyo, on a three-title fight card. Also that night, Takuma Inoue will risk the WBA version of the bantamwieght championship vs. Jerwin Ancajas, and Kosei Tanaka  puts his WBO 115-pound title on the line vs. Christian Bacasegua. Santiago, from Tijuana, will make his first defense of the world title he won against the legendary Nonito Donaire last July. Santiago (28-3-5, 14 KOs) arrives with a streak of four consecutive victories after defeat in November 2021. Nakatani (25-0-0, 19 KOs) will fight at 118 pounds for the frst time after having been champion at 112 and 115. The WBC reported that on February 10th, the men presented their 14-day pre-weigh-ins, with Santiago at 123 pounds and Nakatani at 122.7.
