Sebastian Juarez to face Louis Hernandez on Friday

Middleweight Sebastian Juarez (8-0, 5 KOs) of Brownsville, Texas, is primed and ready for his upcoming fight with Mississippi's Louis Hernandez (12-3-1, 10 KOs). The six-round bout is scheduled to air live on DAZN as part of MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 14 card taking place this Friday, August 22nd at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. Tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

Juarez, promoted by Boxlab Promotions, knows he’s stepping into the ring with a dangerous opponent, but he welcomes the challenge and sees it as the perfect opportunity to prove himself. “Louis Hernandez is a tough guy, no doubt. He’s got experience, power, and he’s been in with good fighters. But I’m not here to pad a record, I’m here to prove myself. I respect what he brings to the ring, but on August 22nd, the difference will be my hunger and my discipline. I fight every round like my back’s against the wall, and Hernandez is going to feel that pressure from the opening bell.”

Preparing in Las Vegas under the guidance of trainer Bob Santos has elevated Juarez’s mindset and skillset heading into this fight. “Working with Coach Santos has been a blessing. Every day in Vegas, I’m sharpening not just my body, but my mind. He’s been in the corners of world champions, and the knowledge he’s giving me can’t be bought—it’s earned. He pushes me beyond what I thought I was capable of, and that’s exactly what I need to make the leap from prospect to contender.”

Fighting on a global platform like DAZN is not lost on Juarez. He sees it as a chance to showcase his talent to the world. “This is a dream stage for a fighter like me. Millions of fans around the world are going to tune in on DAZN, and they’re going to see what Brownsville, Texas is all about. MVP is putting the spotlight on prospects, and I plan to steal the show by letting my hands go and showing why I belong on the biggest stages in boxing.”

For Juarez, victory isn’t just about staying undefeated—it’s about making a statement that pushes his career to the next level. “Every fight is a step toward the top, and this win is about momentum. I’m undefeated, but I’m not satisfied—I want to make a statement that gets the fans talking and the contenders noticing. A victory over Hernandez proves I’m ready for tougher names, bigger stages, and eventually, championship fights. I’m not here to be another face in boxing—I’m here to carve my name into it.”

Boxlab Promotions President Amaury Piedra believes Juarez is quickly becoming one of boxing’s most exciting young fighters because of his fearless, action-first style. “Sebastian Juarez is one of the most exciting young fighters we’ve seen come out of Texas in years. The way he lets his hands go, the way he attacks in combinations—it’s pure entertainment. Fans know they’re going to get action every time he steps in the ring. We’re proud to be part of his journey, and we believe he has the tools, the work ethic, and the fire to go very far in this sport.”
