As previously reported, Shakur Stevenson, a former 126-pound title holder, is going to fight Namibia's Jeremiah Nakathila on June 12th. Stevenson's promoter, Top Rank, has confirmed Stevenson-Nakathila will be the second of four shows taking place at the new Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Top Rank also reports that the fight will be for the WBO interim junior lightweight title. Jamel Herring holds the full WBO title, and this means Herring is likley headed for a unification bout vs. WBC champion Oscar Valdez later this year. Nakathila is 21-1, while Stevenson is 17-0 including the World Series of Boxing.
