Swedish boxing update: Berghult returns this weekend

Professional boxing returns to Sweden tomorrow (March 4th) at the Tegelbruket Arena in Örebro, Sweden. Kamran Kabinejad of Fight Life Promotions will present a show consisting of six professional bouts. Former WBC 154-pound champion Patricia Berghult (15-1) of Malmo, Sweden will take on Buenos Aires' Maria Elena Maderna (18-13-3) in a bout shceduled for six rounds. The last ring appearance for Berghult came in September, when she lost a unification bout against Natasha Jonas. Maderna is listed at 47 years old, but held the WBO lightweight title in 2013-2014 and has at least won two recent bouts on the comeback trail after a 2017 retirement. In the main event, Pezhman Seifkhani (14-0) of Orebro, Sweden takes on Tanzanian born Awadh Tamim (15-5) with the Swedish heavyweight championship on the line (Tamim apparently resides in Sweden).
