TGB Promotions won a purse bid for the promotional rights for a WBA championship fight between super featherweight champion Hector Garcia and his mandatory challenger, Lamont Roach Jr. The purse bid was held on Thursday, May 25th in Houston. TGB Promotions, the company representing Garcia, represented by Phil Weiss at the event, offered an amount of US $410,000 and listed as possible dates for the fight on July 22nd and August 19th, in both cases to be held in Las Vegas. Noxcuse Boxing Promotions also participated in the bidding, and offered US$ 351,000. 

The bout between Garcia and Roach is a 130-pound mandatory and will mark the return of the Garcia after a losing fight against Gervonta Davis in the 135-pound division last January. Roach Jr. defeated Angel Rodriguez in July of last year during an eliminator fight to earn the challenger’s spot in the division.
