IBF / WBA junior welterweight champion Josh Taylor has vowed that he will cement his legacy in the history books when he has his unification showdown with Jose Ramirez later this year. Taylor (17-2, 13 KOs including the World Series of Boxing) will face WBC / WBO champion Ramirez (26-0, 17 KOs) on Saturday May 22nd, with the event broadcast live in the US on ESPN.

 

The superb battle gives Taylor a chance to showcase his talents to a massive audience, and he’s determined to make the moment count. Taylor told IFL TV: “You can ask any fighter, and they’ll all tell you that they’d love to fight in America. I’ve worked hard for this opportunity and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it. I’m not going to put any pressure on myself. I’ve achieved my goal of becoming a world champion. Everything else is a bonus if it happens. I really do believe this is the perfect time for me to make history and cement my legacy in the history books.
