Three OPBF champs crowned last weekend

Jin Sasaki W10 Sora Tanaka i... On the big Tokyo show last weekend, Jin Sasaki became the new OPBF welterweight champion by defeating Sora Tanaka in an exciting, closely contested contest. The bout, presented by Ohashi Promotion, was a war of attrition and strategy between two of Japan’s premier 147-pounders. After ten rounds of relentless action, the decision rested with the judges, who delivered a split decision in favor of Sasaki by scores of 96-94 and 97-93, overruling a 96-94 card in Tanaka's favor. Sasakim now 21-2-1, lost a title shot to Brian Norman last year. Tanaka, age 24, falls to 5-1.

Yuito Moriwaki W10 Deok No Yun,...  Yuito Moriwaki ascended to the OPBF super middleweight throne, dethroning the defending champion, Deok No Yun, by split decision. The contest was a technical and physical chess match from start to finish. Yun controlled the pace in several rounds with aggressive flurries, but Moriwaki’s disciplined defense and precise counter-punching resonated with two judges, 96-94 (twice), with a third judging it 97-93 for Yun. Moriwaki is 29 years old but just 2-0-1 as a pro.

Mark Vicelles W10 Carlo Diaz... In Hamamatsu, Japan, Filipino light. flyweight Mark Vicelles captured the vacant OPBF title by defeating his compatriot Carlo Diaz via unanimous decision. The event, promoted by Seien Promotion was a tactical battle that Vicelles won easily, 99-90 (twice) and 98-91. Vicekles's professional recors is now 21-2-1 while Diaz drops to 8-4-1.
