Top Rank won the promotional rights for the vacant WBA featherweight title fight between Uzbekistan’s Otabek Kholmatov and Raymond Ford of the United States. Top Rank won the auction by bidding the amount of $317,500. It listed three possible dates for the fight: February 16th in New York City, February 17th in Saudi Arabia and March 2nd in New York. Matchroom also participated in the bidding, but fell short with an offer of $255,555. Kholmatov and Ford are the top two WBA-rated 126-pounders and will contest the championship that was recently vacated due to former champion Leigh Wood’s move up in weight.
