Trout wants to be a two-division champ in bare knuckle fighting

Austin “No Doubt” Trout just keeps adding to his resume. Trout is a fomrer junior middleweight champion in traditional boxing. He has made a succesful jump to bare knuckle boxing. On the recent BKFC 71 show — the first headliner in BKFC’s two-night premiere in Dubai — Trout defended his BKFC welterweight (165-pound limit in BKFC) championship for the second time with a hard-fought decision over the previously unbeaten Carlos Trinidad-Snake. Trout is now 4-0 in bare knucke fights. “Dubai was a great experience,” said Trout after returning to the United States.  “The country was amazing, but I’m not satisfied with my performance in the ring. It wasn’t an ideal training camp, but we were able to overcome that and get the win, which is the most important thing.”

The former WBA traditional boxing champion has his sights set on another piece of hardware for his mantle — the BKFC lightweight (155 pounds) title that is currently held by the unbeaten Franco Tenaglia.  “I wasn’t joking about moving down to 155,” Trout says with a chuckle. “I know I would be really strong at lightweight. I would dominate the competition, and you’d be seeing a lot of knockouts.
