Turki Alalshikh has been appointed President of the Saudi Boxing Federation for the 2024–2028 election period, adding a new dimension, scope and capacity to his already extensive portfolio. He is considered the most powerful person in boxing as well as one of the key figures in Saudi Arabia’s cultural and sporting transformation. As Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Alalshikh has been the driving force impetus behind the Kingdom’s ambitious efforts to establish itself as a global entertainment hub.

 

At the heart of this transformation is Riyadh Season, a six-month festival that debuted in 2019 and has established itself as one of the world’s largest, most ambitious and pioneering cultural events. The 2024 edition attracted millions of visitors, blending and dovetailing sports, music, gastronomy, and live entertainment.

 

Alalshikh’s recent appointment as President of the Saudi Boxing Federation, follows tangible achievement in the sport. With and thanks to, his innovative leadership, Saudi Arabia has hosted some of the most notable fights in modern boxing, including the historic duel between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, the first fight for the undisputed heavyweight title in more than two decades.
