VADA announces Paul and Diaz tested clean

VADA, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, announced today that both Jake Paul and Nate Diaz have successfully completed their testing obligations for their August 5th bout. Paul defeated Diaz by unanimous decision in a ten-round cruiserweight bout. VADA is an independent organization founded to offer and promote effective anti-doping in sports.

AUG. 5, 2023: Social media star Jake Paul won an entertaining cruiserweight boxing match over mixed artial artist Nate Diaz. It was the first boxing match for Diaz, and the first scheduled ten rounder for Paul, who is now 7-1 as a boxer. Paul, coming off a loss to Tommy Fury, needed a win in Dallas to remain a top-tier pay-per-view attraction, and he got one, by official scores of 97-92 and 98-91 (twice). Paul dominated first round, giving Diaz a swollen right eye basically from the get-go. However, Diaz weathered the storm and appeared to win round four. In the fifth round, Paul regained the momentum, knocking Diaz down with a shot to the temple. The two men slugged it out in round eight as Diaz got the better of the action with Paul seeming to tire. The ninth round was also action-packed, but Paul's performance imrpoved from the previous round. The tenth round was all Paul, as he recovered his wind and pounded Diaz, who retreated and even turned away from the action at times. After the fight, Paul, a former high school wrestler, said he was willing to take Diaz on in an MMA fight.
