On Friday, July 19th, Venezuela's Carlos "Triple C" Cañizales (26-2-1) will face Mexico's Iván García (12-2-1) in a light flyweight bout in Caracas. The promoters will be Jorge Fernández and Williams Pérez under the supervision of the Venezuelan National Professional Boxing Commission. Cañizales, will enter the ring for the second time this year, after losing in January by majority decision in a failed WBA/WBC title bid against  Kenshiro Teraji (23-1). Born in Ixtapaluca, Mexico, García will return to Venezuela after a controversial draw against another local boxer, Rodrigo Ramírez at the end of 2023. Garcia won an April bout in Mexico by unanimous decision against Pedro Delgado Gaytan (10-1).
