WBA featherweight situation

Victor Morales and Luis Reynaldo Nunez will meet on March 16th in a WBA featherweight eliminator bout to be held at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. A Mexican-American who lives in the state of Washington, Morales Jr. (19-0-1 with 9 KOs) is on a strong run after defeating Diego De La Hoya and Edwin Palomares in back-to-back fights.  Nunez, a 24 year-old Dominican, has come on strong in the United States and in his most recent bout, he vanquished the previously unbeaten Christian Olivo.Nunez is 19-0 with 13 KOs as a pro. The WBA featherweight title is currently vacant with Leigh Wood moving up four pounds to 130. The vacancy wont last for long howeer, as Otabek Kholmatov and Raymond Ford will vie for the belt on March 2nd at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. 
 
Kholmatov is a strong and intelligent fighter, age 25 from Uzbekistan. He has knockout power combined with good boxing and an excellent IQ in the ring. Ford, meanwhile, is a 24-year-old American who has defeated the likes of Jessie Magdaleno, Richard Medina and Samaria Luka. Kholmatov has 12 wins, 11 of them by knockout. Ford, meanwhile, has 14 wins, 1 draw and 7 KOs.
