WBA politely asks Santa Cruz about his future plans

After stripping other champions, the WBA has politely asked Leo Santa Cruz whether he intends to keep the title has not not defended in a very long time. On December 8, the WBA sent the following letter to Leo Santa Cruz who is still recognized as the WBA super champion in the featherweight division: "Dear champion, We have noted that you last defended your featherweight title on February 16, 2019, and we would like to ask you about your status in boxing, specifically if you plan to continue fighting in the featherweight division. It is of utmost important for us to know your future boxing plans, because it has been more than 2 1/2 years since your last title defense. We would like to have your decision by Monday, December 13th, 2021. We wish you all the success you deserve in the future and also thank you for your respect and loyalty to the World Boxing Association. Sincerely yours, Carlos Chavez, WBA Championship Committee Chairman."
