Welcome to Dubois vs. Lerena fight week

Daniel Dubois will make the first defense of his WBA regular heavyweight title against South Africa's Kevin Lerena this Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Tottenham, London. Dubois (pictured) will try to retain his secondary crown and he will do it at home, which means a lot to him. Dubois' lone pro loss came against Joe Joyce in November 2020. That was a major blow for the 25-year old. However, Dubois took a break and returned to the ring midway through 2021. Since then he has won three fights in a row, including his most recent against Trevor Bryan, against whom he won the WBA regular title.  Lerena, a 30 year-old South African who is going into the most important fight of his career, will try to hurt Dubois on the night. The southpaw has spent most of his career at cruiserweight and hasn’t lost a fight since 2014.  Dubois comes into the fight with a record of 18 wins, 1 loss and 17 knockouts. Lerena has 28 wins, 1 loss and 14 knockouts.
