Claressa Shields will defend her world heavyweight title on July 26th in Detroit against current IBF light heavyweight champion Lani Daniels from New Zealand. The fight will be the main event of a big show promoted by Salita Promotions at the Little Caesars Arena, broadcast live worldwide by DAZN. Shields (16-0 with 3 KOs), is one of the most accomplished female fighters of all time and has won world titles at 154, 160, 168, 175 pounds and now heavyweight (which stars at 176 pounds for women).

 

In Daniels, 11-2-2 (1), she will be facing an opponent who is technically going up in weight, but has already held a world title at heavyweight. In 2023 she won and defended the IBF heavyweight title, before dropping down to win the IBF title at light heavyweight in December of that same year. Last September she defended her world title with a clear unanimous decision over undefeated Nigerian Bolatito Oluwole, and now she is ready to return to heavyweight for what will be the biggest fight of her life against Shields.
