Yuliahn Luna to defend title vs. 11-14-3 opponent

Fresnillo, Mexico will host world title action on Friday, March 17th when Yuliahn ‘Cobrita’ Luna defends the WBC bantamweight crown against Argentina’s Vanesa Lorena Taborda (11-14-3). The 38-year old Taborda has lost two of her last three bouts. Luna is 24-3-1 and hasn;t fought since June, when she retained her title in a bout that saw the referee blatantly favor her, with her opponent suffering a brain injury as a possible result of the refere's failure to stop Luna's rabbit punches. The show will be promoted by Promociones del Pueblo, a company directed by Oswaldo Küchle and will be broadcast live throughout Latin America by ESPN Knockout.
