Zamorano fight postponed

The first defense of Mexican teenager Camila “Magnificent” Zamorano, the youngest interim champion in boxing history, has been postponed. Originally scheduled for October 18th at Arena Sonora in Hermosillo, both the date and the opponent will be changed. Zamorano, who made history by winning the WBC interim atomweight title in June after defeating former title holder Mika Iwakawa, was set to face Thai boxer Sothia Sitthichai. However, for reasons not yet specified, the bout will not take place as planned. At just 17 years old, Zamorano continues her training while her team works to set a new date and opponent. With an undefeated record of 12 wins, including 1 by knockout, Zamorano hopes to stay active and solidify her position as one of the brightest prospects in women’s boxing.
